Course Description

Atlantic's Introduction to OSHA Record Keeping for Employees is an online training course that was specifically created to address OSHA’s training requirements under 29 CFR Part 1904. Topics covered include work-related injuries and illnesses, recordable medial issues under OSHA guidelines, musculoskeletal disorders, and more.

    • OSHA data on a national level and how these record affect other workplaces.
    • Businesses that are exempt and employee classifications.
  • Recordkeeping
    • Defining “work-related” injuries and illnesses.
    • Recordable medical issues and how to identify them.
    • Specific scenarios to help employees differentiate between conditions.
    • Handling contaminations and contagious diseases in the workplace.
    • An overview of the most common recordable illness: Musculoskeletal Disorders (MSDs).
    • How to keep a proper MSD report, including the number of days a worker will be gone from work.
    • Potentially recordable injuries like lacerations, puncture wounds, burns, and more.
    • How to properly determine the severity of an injury.
    • The transmission of deadly diseases such as HIV.
    • Information on TB and the workers who are most at risk.
    • How to record these illnesses and injuries according to OSHA standards.
    • Information on the OSHA 300 “Log of Work-Related Injuries and Illnesses”.
    • The length of time that record must be kept and stored.
