Cranes are heavily used in all industrial environments including manufacturing, construction and warehousing. They’re critical to operations as they’re designed to lift and move heavy loads quickly across a job site. Operating cranes safety is not only a focus for the one operating the crane itself, but also for workers in the area as they must be aware of their surroundings. Under OSHA’s regulation 29 CFR 1910.179, OSHA not only defines the different types of overhead cranes, but safety requirements when operating in and around the machinery.1

These micro-learning clips are designed to help learners understand what are the crane safety regulations, how to properly assemble construction cranes, how to work safely around boom cranes, how to properly set up boom cranes, crane basic rigging & hoisting fundamentals and how to properly lift, move and lower crane loads. Learning the necessary safety protocol of operating in and around cranes will keep industrial jobsites safe and compliant with OSHA regulations.
