Forklifts (also known as Powered Industrial Trucks) are one of the most commonly used forms of machinery used on job sites around the world. Forklifts can be found at various workplace environments including warehouse, manufacturing, construction and even retail. Though Forklifts are incredibly helpful in accomplishing daily tasks, they’re extremely dangerous and each year, over 35,000 serious injuries occur as well as over 100 deaths with 42 percent of them stemming from a tipped forklift crushing the operator.1 Forklift operators must learn to maintain control of the forklift, keep a proper lookout and operate the forklift at speeds safe for the particular operation and worksite.

These micro-learning clips are designed to help learners understand OSHA regulation 29 CFR 1910.178, how to classify forklifts, how to properly operate the forklift and, most importantly, how to work safely with the machinery. Forklifts should only be operated once proper training has been conducted to protect not only your life, but the lives around you.
