Fire safety and fire drills have been ingrained in our heads since we were children. Mainly we are taught to remain calm and exit the building in a single filed line through the marked fire exit doors. The Office comedically highlights how people may actually behave in a real life fire situation. Some may think it's just a drill, some overly panic, others calmly follow the procedure and exit the building safely. In the end as long as everybody gets out safely and unharmed, that's all that really matters.
