The use of respirators at the workplace is a common practice especially if you’re working in the construction industry where there are many hazards you encounter each day. Respirators are designed to reduce and potentially eliminate the inhalation of harmful dusts, fogs, fumes, mists, gases, smokes, sprays or vapors. Under OSHA regulation 29 CFR 1910.134, employers must provide their employees with a respirator if it’s necessary to protect the workers health, based on work environment.1

These micro-learning clips are designed to help learners understand what are the respiratory hazards in the workplace, how to protect yourself from respiratory hazards, how to properly use respirators, what are the different types of respirators, how to properly inspect respirators and how to properly fit respirators. A respirator protects workers from the most hidden dangers on the jobsite - ones that cannot be seen with the naked-eye.
