Each year, fires and explosions kill hundreds of workers and injure several thousand each and every year. Understanding how to properly use a portable fire extinguisher can limit the number of people who suffer from, many times, these unpredictable events. Under OSHA regulation CFR 1910.157, workplaces are required to have a fire extinguisher. A common acronym used to understand how to use a fire extinguisher properly is P.A.S.S.: Pull, Aim, Squeeze and Sweep.

These micro-learning clips are designed to help learners understand the steps to prepare for a fire, what actually causes fires, identifying the classes of fires, using both chemical fire extinguishers and water extinguishers as well as how to extinguish a fire. We always hope fires don’t harm our workplaces and workers, but knowing how to properly use a fire extinguisher can save human and property loss.
