Manufacturers and laborers alike work with welding, cutting and brazing operations which can not only be harmful, but deadly if not used safely. The hazards that workers are exposed to include: metal fumes, ultraviolet (UV) radiation, burns, eye damage, electrical shock, cuts and crushed fingers and toes. Thankfully, many of these welding hazards can be managed and prevented through the use of personal protective equipment (PPE). OSHA regulation 29 CFR 1910.252 protects workers from the dangers of welding by enforcing policies as they relate to fire prevention since hundreds of fires each year occur from welding sparks.1

These micro-learning clips are designed to help learners understand what are the standard working procedures of welding, why welding light is dangerous, what are the health risks of welding fumes, how to protect your workers from welding noise hazards, what are the proper welding protective clothings and how to prevent welding related fires. Welding is filled with dangers to workers - understanding the hazards is step one to protect themselves and others from harm.
